Krista Snelling Elected Chair of the California Bankers Association’s Board of Directors

SACRAMENTO, Calif., June 1, 2024 – The California Bankers Association (CBA) today announced Krista Snelling, president and chief executive officer of Santa Cruz County Bank, assumes the role of 2024-2025 chair of the board of directors effective June 1, 2024.

“Krista is a true leader, and we are excited about the energy and vision that she will bring into the role as chair of our association,” said Kevin Gould, president and chief executive officer. “As a member of the association, she has been active as a board member, and served on the finance & audit and state government relations committees.”

Ms. Snelling brings more than 26 years of banking experience to the role. Prior to joining Santa Cruz County Bank, she served as executive vice president, chief operating officer, and chief financial officer of Five Star Bank, based in Sacramento. Ms. Snelling graduated from the University of the Pacific with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Economics. She also holds a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Davis, and is a California Public Accountant (inactive).

"I am honored to be named chair of the board of directors for the California Bankers Association,” said Ms. Snelling. “This is a pivotal time for the banking industry, and I look forward to advocating for our members, growing our community, and ensuring members take advantage of the important resources the association provides.”

Ms. Snelling serves on the boards of the Monterey Bay Economic Partnership, the Finance Committee of the Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County, and the Executive Advisory Council of the University of the Pacific Eberhardt School of Business, where she is a frequent guest lecturer. She is a member of the Cabrillo College Foundation President’s Circle and Rotary Club of Santa Cruz.

Ms. Snelling has been recognized by several publications, including the American Banker Magazine’s Most Powerful Women in Banking Watch List and the Silicon Valley Business Journal’s Power 100 List, to name a few.

Ms. Snelling assumes the role of chair from Stan Ivie, Head of Government and Regulatory Affairs, Banc of California.
